Free Idea: The Morning News Should Republish the Dallas Buyers Club Story

Unless they already did, and I missed it.

Bill Minutaglio’s story about Ron Woodruff appeared in the Dallas Morning News‘ now-defunct Dallas Life Magazine on August 9, 1992. I’m not sure if Minutaglio made any money off the Matthew McConaughey-led Dallas Buyers Club, because it looks like screenwriter Craig Borten interviewed Woodruff not long after (a month before Woodruff died), hoping to turn his story into a film. At any rate, now that McConaughey, Jared Leto, and Borten (and his co-writer Melissa Wallack) are up for Academy Awards, and Dallas Buyers Club is up for Best Picture, the Morning News should republish Minutaglio’s original piece. Maybe they’d have to serialize it, but still, I think we can all agree, as usual, that I’m right.

If you can’t wait, you can read it here.
