I type this with numb lobster fingers after an hour spent digging my car out of its ice cave. Hope everyone survived. I, for one, am happy to see other humans.

Tonight, Beyoncé. Her Mrs. Carter World Tour appearance might not be as impressive as Kanye’s Friday night show, since she is not (as far as I know) transporting a veritable mountain through very bad weather. But if you saved your pennies while you were homebound this weekend, you can still snag tickets for $100+. You’ve also probably earned an $18 margarita, so go to Stampede 66 first.

Meanwhile, there’s a staged reading of Booth, a new play that Second Thought Theatre will produce in full next year. Written by Steven Walters, wearer of many theatrical hats, the play derives its name and plot from the actor and presidential assassin John Wilkes Booth. The reading, held on the Kalita Humphreys Theater campus in Turtle Creek, will be followed by a conversation with Walters, researcher Erik Archilla, and members of the cast. KERA’s Jerome Weeks will lead the discussion.
