Capers abound at the various Arts District museum late nights. The Dallas Museum of Art hosts an activity called the Museum Murder Mystery: An Artful Game of Clue, which sounds to me like your best opportunity to declare that Mrs. Peacock did it in the study with the candle stick since you were eight, unless you’ve recently gotten into some shenanigans that I definitely want to be invited to next time. It’s also your last opportunity to catch the interactive installation Post Communiqué, part of the DallasSITES: Available Space exhibit. There’s also ‘Til Midnight at the Nasher, which features the band Calhoun and the movie Three Amigos, and activities at the Crow Collection.
For a bit of a switch, there’s Lil Wayne’s America’s Most Wanted Music Fest at Gexa Energy Pavilion. Rumors of Weezy’s death earlier this year turned out to be greatly exaggerated, which is good news. As far as this most wanted thing goes, he might not be heading back to Rikers anytime soon, but he is embroiled in several legal controversies, and we can think of at least one Dallas-based producer duo that might like a word if they still think Young Money Entertainment owes them royalties for their work on Weezy’s 2011’ hit “Got Money” on Tha Carter III. Rap veteran T.I. and hitmaker 2 Chainz join Lil Wayne on the bill.
Saturday
Beatlemania is back, at least for the night. The Bass Hall has 1964…The Tribute in town for a signature pre-Sgt. Pepper-era performance. Plan everything in advance so you can go to Woodshed first, and then drive over to The Usual, my favorite place in Fort Worth to get a cocktail, after you’re sufficiently Beatle-d out. Have a “Don’t Ask. Don’t Tell.” for me.
If you prefer to stick around Dallas, go see Uptown Players’ production of Kiss of the Spider Woman at Kalita Humphreys Theater. It’s a quite good interpretation of the Kander and Ebb musical set in a Buenos Aires prison. Two very different inmates—one, a gay window dresser obsessed with movies, and the other, a Marxist revolutionary in love with a woman named Marta—form a friendship that alters their lives. Carbone’s is your spot for dinner.
This is also your last opportunity to see Fly at the Dallas Theater Center, so if you haven’t done that yet, swap your musicals.

Help Fearing’s celebrate its sixth anniversary with a big indoor/outdoor barbecue party at the restaurant. Deep Ellum Brewing Co. provides the beer to complement pulled pork, beef short ribs, and skillet mac-and-cheese. So. Hungry. Call for a reservation.
