Texas Senate to Renew Abortion Debate. This afternoon, senators will again consider the bill that was undone by Wendy Davis’ filibuster last month. The House has already signed off, and since there’s lots of time remaining in the  legislature’s special session, it’s bound to pass and could head to Gov. Perry’s desk this weekend. Davis simply can’t be expected to remain standing and continuously talking, without eating or leaving the chamber to visit the restroom, for two weeks. Though, if she could, it might improve her chances in a head-to-head 2014 gubernatorial race against attorney general Greg Abbott and his $22 million war chest.

Facebook Page Encourages “Oak Cliff Dallas Texas Fights.” Just a few days old, the page had already garnered 57,000 “Likes” with its bare-knuckle fight videos, many of them featuring teenagers. Community leaders expressed shock and disappointment. I would advise those leaders to steer clear of YouTube as well.

Fort Worth Hospital Records Found in Dallas Park. The patient information from Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth was supposed to have been shredded. The hospital is notifying everyone whose privacy may have been affected. Thankfully all of these 277,000 records were on microfiche, an outdated storage method that requires specialized equipment to view. I’d guess there’s a fairly high correlation between regularly using the term “YOLO” and not having the slightest idea what microfiche is.
