Human Rights Initiative Wins 2013 Louise B. Raggio Award

By Tim Rogers |

Those of you who are fans of Bill Holston’s “Law Man Walking” series of FrontBurner dispatches from the wilds around North Texas can congratulate him in the comments for a big honor that he and his little operation just won. From the release:

Human Rights Initiative of North Texas (HRI) has been recognized by the Women and Law Section of the State Bar of Texas for their work in contributing to the advancement of women in the legal profession and the community. The award is given to an individual or organization that has contributed to the furtherance of justice in our society by addressing the needs and issues of women in the community. Last year HRI’s all-female team of attorneys helped nearly 200 immigrant women in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Area access affordable legal representation through our William J. Holston Volunteer Attorney Program.

Bill and his team will get the award at the State Bar’s annual meeting, in Dallas, on June 20.
