They’ve factored in our poor score on the American Fitness Index (ranked 47th out of the top 50 largest metro areas), our relatively low percentage of people with health insurance (77.4%), the number of doctors per capita, and pollution levels to determine that Dallas is the fourth-least-healthy metro area in the United States.
The three healthiest on their list: Boston, Seattle, and Portland. So feel free to see some sort of left-wing conspiracy theory behind the rankings.
