Teenager Runs For Open City Council Seat

|

Jacob King is on the Bishop Lynch mock trial team, and he likes to dance. He is also running for Dallas City Council:

The 18-year-old senior at Bishop Lynch is one of four candidates in District 13, which covers most of Preston Hollow as well as Bluffview, Devonshire, and Greenway Parks. A lifelong Preston Hollow resident, King is realistic about his chances of being elected.

“You’re going to ask yourself, ‘Doesn’t he realize that he doesn’t have a shot in hell?’ ” he said. “Well, sometimes, lost causes are the only things worth fighting for.”

King lives with his grandmother, on the same block as George W. Bush. Hats off, young man.
