The State Fair of Texas runs through October 23. The Texas Agriculture Department has taken huge strides in the past few years to educate Texans on locally made products. If you happen to make it out to the fair grounds, make sure and head over to the Food and Fiber building and check out the GO TEXAN General Store. It is stocked with great products from all over Texas. Here are a few of our favorites:

Ready Rita
This is a margarita mix comes completely ready for the addition of your favorite tequila. The thing that makes Ready Rita different from other mixes is that the product come in a variety of colors. More specifically, a variety of college and professional football team colors. Genius! And delicious.

The Yellow Farmhouse
From a farm in North Central Texas, Yellow Farmhouse, mills and packages their wheat, corn, and grain sorghum, preparing all products themselves and getting them straight to you. Perfect for baking.

Uniquely Gourmet
These are the best jarred quail eggs I have ever had. Uniquely Gourmet is based in the Piney Woods of East Texas where they produce salsas, fruit preserves, pickles, relishes, olives, and out-of-this-world jalapeño quail eggs.

These West Texas vanilla wafers would be an irresistible addition to any banana pudding recipe. But they’re also great on their own.
