Take advantage of the gradually waning temperatures with a trip to one of the area’s many farmers markets.

Coppell Farmers Market

8 a.m. to noon, Saturday

Aside from different varieties of squash, this market also offers specialty produce such as eggplant, peppers, and oyster mushrooms. This weekend, you’ll find homemade pimento cheese spread, gluten-free bread, and drinkable goat milk. Aside from meat, dairy, and produce, the market also has different products such as room sprays, sugar scrub, and doggie biscuits, too. Here’s a full list of what the market will have this weekend.

Dallas Farmers Market

The Market |10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday – Sunday

The Shed |10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Sunday | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday

Tonight, learn basic hoop art skills with Lone Chimney Mercantile from 7-9 p.m. at the market. You’ll get to take home your creation. The $40 fee includes supplies, wine, beer, and pizza from Bellatrino Neapolitan Pizzeria & Cucina.

On Saturday, get to the market early and explore the the 26,000-square-foot food hall and vendor market that houses restaurants and a mix of local specialty foods, artisanal food vendors, and seating areas. Because the size of the market can be delightfully daunting, here are a few tips on how to navigate the space. This week, you can find peaches, arugula, and blackberries. The market’s 70-plus vendors often vary but a list of current vendors can be found here.

Farmers Market of Grapevine

Indoor Market |8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday – Saturday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday

Outdoor Market |8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday – Saturday

If you’ve never been to this North Texas market, this Saturday is the perfect opportunity as the 30th annual Grapefest will be going on throughout the weekend. You’ll find both indoor and outdoor markets, stocked with fresh local eggs; raw, unfiltered honey; and traditional tamales. The market hosts growers such as Waxahachie’s Larken Farms and McKinney’s Reeves Family Farm.

Highland Park Village – Local

8:30-11:30 a.m., Third Saturday of the Month

This weekend, Highland Park Village will launch “Local,” a seasonal neighborhood market concept. You’ll find the market at Livingston Court, between Céline and Balenciaga, the third Saturday of each month, September through December. Go early for breakfast tacos from Royal Blue Grocery, cold-pressed juices from Tribal Juice, and homemade kolaches from Naturally Curly Cook. The market will offer a selection of farm-fresh produce such as pumpkins, kale, tomatoes, and zucchini. Stick around for lunch, when Royal Blue Grocery will host a cookout.
