From beer Olympics to music and beer festivals, there are plenty of food and dining events to help you cool down on this hot August weekend.

Thursday, August 4

Bud Light Pub Primary Party

Regardless of which political party you support, there’s one thing we can all agree on; this election has been one crazy roller coaster ride. Fortunately there’s a new party we can all get behind, the Bud Light party. Bud Light will be teaming up with Dallas blogger Miss Dallas Maven to bring their “primaries” to Dallas. Visit McKinney Avenue Tavern between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to cast your vote for one of three local charities. Besides doing something beneficial for the community, your vote will also get you a free beer and access to the Bud Light Party Convention August 11 featuring Jason Derulo and Brett Eldredge.

National IPA Day Takeover

The Flying Saucer in Addison will be celebrating National IPA Day by offering four IPA flights. You will have the chance to choose from 16 IPAs including IPAs from Firestone Walker, Dogfish Head, Stone Brewing, and Founders. The event will take place all day.

Friday, August 5
CiboDivino Transports Guests to Rio de Janeiro

Let the Rio 2016 games begin! The summer games are sure to bring several themed parties, dinners, and happy hours to Dallas this August. In honor of the opening ceremony, Chef Ryan Olmos, of CiboDivino Marketplace, will be serving Brazilian meat board trios, which will feature three Brazilian dishes and Pao de Queijo, a gluten-free baked cheese roll throughout the duration of the games. He will also be serving Paula Louca or Xingu Black, two beers imported from the 2016 Olympics host country.

Brews and Views

Bishop Cider Co and the Hard Rock Cafe Dallas have joined forces to bring a special series to Dallas this August. Starting Friday, Dallasites will the opportunity to watch “Musician in movies” themed films while drinking limited-time ciders from the Bishop Cider Company. This week’s featured movie is “Purple Rain.”

Saturday, August 6

Slipper Beer Club Beer Olympics

Have you ever dreamt of being an Olympic gold medalist? Well now is your chance to make that dream a reality. Slipper Beer Club will be hosting the 2016 Beer Olympics at the Barley House near SMU. The games, which will consist of several competitive drinking games, will commence at 2pm and continue until a winner is crowned. The event will benefit Rays of Light, an organization that provides free respite care to families who have children with special needs.

Local Brews, Local Grooves

Local Brews, Local Grooves gives you the opportunity to sample craft beers from local breweries including Deep Ellum Brewing, Texas Ale Project, Tupps Brewery, Lakewood Brewing and many more while listening to several local bands. There will also be plenty of delicious food available. The music and craft beer festival will take place this Saturday at the House of Blues. General Admission is $14.

Sunday, August 7

Donut and Beer Pairing Flight

If you missed out on last month’s donut and beer pairing event hosted by Luck at Trinity Grove now is your chance to participate. There will be three times to choose from: 11a.m., 1p.m., and 3p.m. Your ticket will get you one lemon pistachio, one chocolate chocolate peanut butter pretzel, one fuzzy navel balls, and one strawberry banana mini doughnut as well as beers from Revolver Brewing Company, Woodcreek Brewing Company, Noble Rey Brewing Company, and Franconia Brewing Company.
