August is a hard month for anyone who works in the restaurant industry. It’s notoriously slow. Thankfully Dallas restaurants get a bump from DFW Restaurant Week, but many do not. So instead of settling on a bowl of cereal for dinner, get the family in the car and dine out.

The last two weeks, we’ve talked a lot about barbecue. Last week, alyb803 sacrilegiously admitted “I do not love barbecue.” (I will not reveal his/her name.) But alyb803 is a gracious diner. She goes to The Slow Bone with her barbecue-loving friends where she finds “some of the best fried chicken in town and the sides are superb.” alyb803 also praises 18th & Vine where she “loves the salmon spread and the Texas quail (nice wine and beer selection also).”

And you? Where do you like to dine?
