Bugs and Beer

A heaping plate of crawfish, a beer, and live music – what could possibly sound better? Bitter Sisters Brewery in Addison is hosting Bugs and Beer, where you can enjoy a show by The Rebellion, a great drink, and some bugs. Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to Boot Campaign to give back to military personnel. Buy your ticket here for $27. Tickets purchased the day of the event are $30.

 

Four Corners Brewing Co. Guided Tour

Join in for a free guided tour of Four Corners Brewing Co. at noon or 1:30 p.m., and learn all about the brewing process and the history of the brewery. Each tour includes small samples of freshly brewed beer, and you can buy full glasses of your favorite ales at the brewery’s All Day Alehouse. The event is limited to 60 people per tour, so register fast!

 

Deep Ellum Mimosa Walk – Memorial Day Edition

Join in for a sip-and-shop adventure around the Deep Ellum neighborhood with a mimosa in your hand. Pick up your special-edition glass at Life of Riley or Kettle Art during business hours. Bring it on Saturday to the check-in table, and you’re set to sip. The glasses are $10 during pre-sale, and $15 the day of … if they’re not sold out!

Memorial Day BBQ with Jeff Harris at Bolsa Mercado

Chef Jeff Harris comes back to Oak Cliff with a mouthwatering Memorial Day BBQ to launch his new venture, J. Harris Barbecue. The barbecue is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bolsa Mercado. For $20, adults get a choice of two smoked meats (choose from smoked brisket, sausage, or turkey), three sides (German-style potato salad, coleslaw, and pit beans), served with bread, dill pickles, white onions, and sauce. For $10, children get a choice of one meat and two sides, along with bread and pickles. Beer and wine will also be available for an additional cost. Tickets can be purchased here.

 

Dallas Margarita Meltdown

Take one for the team and sample margaritas from throughout North Texas to decide who wins the title of “Best Margarita.” Competitors, including previous winners such as Iron Cactus & Pie 314, will serve up margaritas starting at 4 p.m. in the West End. There will be music and food provided by local vendors RJ Mexican Cuisine, Sambuca, Greek Café & Bakery, Samson’s Gourmet Hot Dogs, and Yucatan Taco Stand. The margarita drinkin’ will happen rain or shine, and all sales are final. Last-minute ticket sales are $40, and you can get a designated driver ticket for $15. Don’t miss out! Memorial Day with Piada Italian Street Food

Piada Italian Street Food is celebrating Memorial Day by giving all military personnel (military ID required) a free piada, pasta, or chopped salad with the purchase of one full-sized entrée. This is being offered at the Frisco and Alliance locations from 10:45 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

 

All Weekend

Extended Brunch at Meso Maya

To celebrate Memorial Day and the start of the summer season, Meso Maya is extending brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. all weekend. Be sure to grab a table and enjoy any of the beauties on the brunch menu, such as their chilaquiles tradicionales – roasted white chicken, sautéed onions, Serrano peppers, tomatoes, and black beans, served on a bed of crispy tortilla strips and topped with two sunny side up eggs and a blend of Chihuahua cheese and queso fresco. Wash it all down with a handcrafted mimosa, a sangria roja, or a Bloody Mary for $3 each during brunch hours.
