Did you know the State Fair of Texas opens 200 days from today? That should give you plenty of time to get down to your pre-fair weight. This will be the 130th year of the State Fair and the organizers are going back to the roots of the Fair to create this year’s spotlight events.
The theme is Celebrating Texas Agriculture, a wide world which “focuses on educating guests about all the ways agriculture impacts the community, as well as our day-to-day routines.” Does that translate into more pig races? The press release doesn’t say so, but it does point to more “interactive exhibits explaining how Texas agriculture touches our everyday lives and how food gets from farm to table, to the variety of competitive livestock events and leadership contests for youth throughout the state, the Fair encourages all visitors to learn more about agriculture.” I read that as a potential for more pig races.
Set your calendars: This year’s exposition will run Friday, September 30 through Sunday, October 23 at Fair Park in Dallas.
