Happy Hour at the Kimbell

The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth is hosting a happy hour on select wines in their Pavilion Café from 4 -7 p.m. Friday. Sip half-priced wine while relaxing in a beautifully designed art museum and listening to the musical stylings of The Fort Worth Classical Guitar Society. Don’t worry about missing the happy hour, though; this deal runs for at least the next three Fridays. Reserve your free spot here.

Benefit Dinner and Concert featuring Pianist Avguste Antonov

Pianist Avguste Antonov grew up in France and has studied music at Texas Christian University. He will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Jonsson Performance Hall on the campus of University of Texas at Dallas. The concert benefits Life for Paris, a charity supporting the victims of the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris. General admission tickets are $25. A full ticket is $85 and includes a four-course dinner from Lavendou, beginning after the concert at 8:30 p.m. and benefitting Life for Paris. For lovers of French cuisine, here’s the menu. The first course: salmon, sea scallops in pastry with Chardonnay cream sauce. The second course: crispy warm goat cheese, Parma ham, pine nuts on bed of baby greens. The third: beef tenderloin with bordelaise sauce and gratin dauphinois. For dessert, they’re serving seasonal berries in a pastry with Chantilly cream and wine. Get your tickets here

Grand Opening of Bishop Cidery in the Design District

Oak Cliff’s Bishop Cider has expanded and added a new cidery (production facility) in the Design District, and they’re throwing a party to celebrate the opening. What you can expect: local bands, food trucks, and four bars set up with 18 different ciders. The event runs from 2-6 p.m. for general admission ticketholders. VIP ticketholders can start at noon with Early Bird at 1 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $40. Get them here.

Marathon Dinner at Cast Iron

For runners participating in the Cowtown Marathon this weekend, the Omni Fort Worth’s Texas-style restaurant is offering a pasta dinner buffet to help you carb- and protein-load the night before the run. The buffet is $20 per adult, $10 per child, and free for children under 5 years old. The buffet is available from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Cast Iron. The Omni is offering a special rate for the weekend for those who need a place to stay during the weekend–and post-race massages to soothe aching muscles.

Black Restaurant Week-end

As Black History Month comes to a close, this multi-day experience celebrates black restaurant/business owners and chefs in the DFW area. Friday features a three-course Jamaican prix fixe menu at The Island Spot in Carrollton. On Saturday, VIP ticketholders can expect a pop-up dinner at a mystery location, and Sunday ends with an exclusive brunch at Truth Lounge. Tickets range from $20 to $115 and can be purchased here.
