7 Dallas Alternatives to Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte

Last week, Starbucks’ infamous Pumpkin Spice Lattes returned to stores, signaling the corporate start of fall. Big woop-dee-doo, right? But if you’re one to keep your caffeine consumption local, here are seven area shops making their own, distinct versions of pumpkin-centric coffee beverages.

Method Coffee

This multi-roaster coffee shop is whipping together their own brand of pumpkin syrup. The autumn elixir is made from cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, pumpkin purée, sugar, and water. Pumpkin coffee beverages will be available starting October 1.

Bonus: Method will start selling 8-ounce bottles of their homemade syrups at the beginning of October.

Murray Street Coffee

This Deep Ellum coffee shop offers pumpkin flavored lattes year-round. All of their espresso beverages are made using beans from Richardson-based Eiland Coffee Roasters. Get in there and support local, folks.

Drip Coffee Company

Drip Coffee Company has been caffeinating Dallas’ Park Cities since 2005. The lively shop roasts all of their coffee beans on-site in small batches. Like Murray Street, they too offer pumpkin flavored coffee beverages year-round.

White Rock Coffee

White Rock coffee is making a homemade pumpkin syrup using natural ingredients. You know, like real pumpkin. The shop is offering lattes and pumpkin chai teas. Feeling bold? Try a dirty pumpkin chai with a shot (or three) of espresso.

The Hospitality Sweet

This downtown Dallas coffee shop is serving homemade pumpkin chai teas at both of their locations. The mix of Ceylon black tea from Zakti, raw cane sugar, whole cloves, cardamon, cinnamon, black peppercorn, nutmeg, ginger root, and organic pumpkin purée is sweet and warming. I recommend adding a shot of Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters espresso for an extra jolt of energy.

Sip Stir Café

As of today, the cozy Uptown coffee shop is offering pumpkin lattes using 1883 Maison Routin syrup and J. Gursey beans.

Mudsmith

This trendy Lower Greenville coffee shop is now offering hot and iced pumpkin lattes. All of their espresso beverages are made using beans from Fort Worth-based Avoca Coffee Roasters.
