The Localist: Frankie V’s Fiery Hot Sauce

Indigestion be damned.

Hot sauce has played a major part in my meal consumption for quite some time. I really can’t recall a day where I didn’t reach for a container of it to add dimension to a bowl of creamy pasta, brighten up a pot of soup, or to pack additional heat on top of a taco.

There’s no shortage of great hot sauces made here in Texas, and while I tend to run the opposite direction from the heat a habanero pepper can deliver, Frankie V’s entire line of hot sauces have made a fan out of me. Indigestion be damned.

Frankie V’s entire product line is made here in Dallas by, you guessed it, Frankie V himself. His product line includes nut and seed butters, infused vinegars, and even cocktail mixes.

His sauces can vary from being sweet and spicy to downright fiery, as the labeling suggests, which just happens to make them perfect for plates of breakfast tacos studded with soft scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. His Fiery Hot Sauce is loaded with garlic, onions, and plenty of vinegar to carry the heat. Learn from my mistake and start small. Any hot sauce lover will respect the flood of capsaicin in his spicier offerings.

Frankie V’s line of alternative seed and nut butters are delicious sounding and worth seeking out for the people in your life who are unable to enjoy peanuts. The flavor options range from pumpkin seed, cacao cashew, to the decadent sounding white chocolate and raspberry almond butter.

You can learn more about Frankie V and his entire product line on his website, and his line of hot sauces are available at Fresh Market, Central Market, and select Albertsons locations in the Dallas area.
