How was everyone’s 4th of July? Did you recover from Friday’s festivities by eating out anywhere over the weekend?

There are a couple of things we wanted to give you a heads up about.

First, today is World Chocolate Day, and as an addict, I had to mention it. Maybe I’ll go to Dude, Sweet Chocolate after work to celebrate. What I really want to try is anything from Compartes Chocolatier (They have a Milk Chocolate Mole bar…and that art!). I also want to check out the Chocolate Chili pop at Steel City Pops – has anyone tried it yet?

Whiskey Tuesdays: FM Smokehouse in Irving is serving highly-rated whiskeys on Tuesdays through August 8th. Tomorrow’s limited release will be a 6-year-old Thomas H. Hand Sazerac Rye Whiskey. If you haven’t been to FM yet, know that they have a huge variety of whiskeys, scotches and beer (they have 42 on tap, 28 of which are from Texas). Upcoming Whiskey Tuesdays will host a 10-year Pappy Van Winkle, a 15-year George T. Stagg (2013 “Best North American Whiskey”), and a 25th Anniversary Booker.

Your favorite French restaurant of 2013, Boulevardier, just launched a new summer menu. Some of the new items: Escargots with Olive Tapenade en Croute, Harissa Braised Lamb Neck, and a Berkshire Pork Chop that is wood-grilled with Texas creamer peas, Texas peaches and sweet corn buerre blanc.
