I’m pretty sure the working world of Dallas is going to come to a screeching halt around 3PM. That’s when the Round of 16 continues and USA meets Belgium at Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, Bahia (Hi, Karen!).

D editor Bradford Pearson put the game in perspective last night on Facebook. He calls for a ban of all-things Belgian.

no waffles no brussels sprouts definitely no jean-claude van damme no chimay no tintin no in bruges no magritte no moules-frites. no. belgium.

Bradford’s assessment of the game:

The Belgian team is using four central defenders across its back line. If Fabian Johnson or other US players can exploit the outside defenders on that line, we have a chance to win. That said, Belgium is stacked with high-level, young Champions League talent. This will not be easy.

Here is a link to some establishments showing the game. I’ll also add:  FC Dallas is hosting a watching party at Victory Park. The party starts at 2PM right outside the AAC in the plaza. Also, the Dallas Cowboys are opening up AT&T Stadium where the game will be projected on one million screens (or something close to that.)  Parking lots open at 12:30PM, doors open at 1:30PM. Watching is free. Beer is not.

Here is a little film that will help you dislike Belgium which, for me, is hard to do. Roll it.
