What’s gooey, cheesy, and dips perfectly in ketchup? Grilled cheese, of course. Tomorrow, April 12, is National Grilled Cheese Day, which is by far one of the best holidays ever invented. Whether it’s a plain Jane grilled cheese or a fancy prosciutto-and-tomato, there’s always room for one more.

Norma’s Cafe is gearing up early and getting extra cheesy for National Grilled Cheese Day. Today, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., all three locations of Norma’s Cafe will be serving mac and cheese grilled cheese sandwiches on Texas toast, stuffed with creamy macaroni and cheese and bacon. They will also be serving one free grilled cheese to guests who dine-in. Get there fast before all the cheese runs out.

Tillamook has decided to give out 200 free grilled cheese sandwiches at the Dallas Zoo tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for National Grilled Cheese Day. Children will receive free chef hats and aprons, plus their choice of Tillamook cheese to create a personalized grilled cheese sandwich.

Ruthie’s, a gourmet grilled cheese truck, will be giving away  t-shirts and coupons for free sandwiches all throughout the day at Klyde Warren Park.

Hayley Votolato is a D Magazine intern, and aspiring food and travel editor. She will be graduating from Texas Christian University with a degree in Strategic Communication from the Schieffer College of Communication this May.
