Dear Lakewood area residents,

You now have a growler filling station. It opened last Saturday, March 8, at 6448 East Mockingbird. Please behave and drink heavily. Here are some tidbits of info about the new spot.

Where is it? It’s in the plaza center on the southeast corner of Mockingbird and Abrams. It’s right next to Taco Joint.

How many taps are there? There are 36 taps. They are all Texas beers. They even have a tap with Full City Rooster cold brew and one with Holy Kombucha’s blueberry ginger kombucha. And for the kids, there’s Firewheel Root Beer.

What’s it like? It’s a simple space with lots of hand-painted wood material, corrugated panels, and Texas regalia. It’s very colorful. Mrs. Czech, co-owner with her husband Dale Czech, built all the tables and seating (except for the center table with metal chairs). She even built the bar top. There is a digital tap menu showing the levels of the beer in each keg. You can also see this on their website.

Do they have sleeping quarters for overnight drinking? No.

Are you allowed to wear jean shorts? Probably not.

How will I know what love is? I can’t answer that for you.

Okay, now you know all the secrets to life. Bring your own growler or purchase one of theirs and fill that bad boy up.

Fist bump,

Matt
