Brown sugar coffee, lavender honey, and lemon basil sorbet: these are just a few of the homemade flavors planned for the soon-to-be talk of Fort Worth, Melt Ice Creams. (Eater wrote about it earlier this month.) Kari Crowe Seher, Fort Worth photographer/ice cream enthusiast, saw the need over the past few years for an ice cream shop in her Fort Worth neighborhood. After mulling over the idea, Seher got to work.
Kari Crowe Seher apprenticed under an ice cream maker in Cleveland, Ohio; working closely to learn more about the industry and the ice cream making process. This apprenticeship soon turned into the genius idea of Melt Ice Creams. Using local and seasonal ingredients, Melt Ice Creams will create all flavors from scratch.
“Our shop is small, our kitchen is small, and we want to start small. I don’t anticipate having a long list of flavors when we open, quite possibly only six, but six really great ones!” Seher said.
Melt Ice Creams will be opening this spring on 954 W. Rosedale St. in Fort Worth’s hip and eclectic Southside area.
