Back when we announced CrushCraft Thai’s January opening at 2800 Routh Street, we were excited about the idea of casual street food going into Uptown. (Uptown! Of all places.) Now that CrushCraft Thai is built, it’s settling nicely inside its Quadrangle nest. On Monday, January 27, it will open to the public and let its Thai flag fly free. The interior, designed by Jones Baker, is designed to have an “open-air market feel” to the space.
Owner Jack Nuchkasem and his partner-in-crime, chef Paul Singhapong, are keeping the place casual and homey. There’s even a section labeled “For the Humble Homey” in the menu, with dishes like moo ping (sticky rice, grilled pork, and papaya salad) and phat ke mao (wide rice noodles, beef, and chilies). No dish in this joint is going to set you back more than $10. Even the food “For the Swanky Citizen” is $7.85.
Best of all, CrushCraft Thai is open until 3 a.m. from Thursday to Saturday. The late-night food options in this city just keep getting better and better.
