Food Truck Highlight of the Week: Cajun Tailgators

Owners/operators/husband-and-wife team Ann Keady and Jason Key met in college at LSU, tailgated to all of the football games, graduated, and continue their passion for all things Louisiana and LSU. Cajun Tailgators started rolling in February 2012 just after the initial wave of Dallas food trucks started.  Cajun’s menu includes standard fare that you would expect: jambalaya, gumbo, red beans and rice, and beignets. By far, the best on their menu, though, is the crawfish pistolette. Start there and you won’t be disappointed.

Cajun Tailgators is planning on a soft opening a brick ‘n’ mortar this week, Cajun Tailgators Cafe, in “old Plano” at 1112 E. 15th Street, with opening on December 13.  The menu will include everything on the truck, with an expanded menu of po’ boys, according to owner Ann Keady.

Here’s your schedule for the week.  Lots of trucks are off this week, and be careful about weather. Check Facebook and Twitter feeds before going out.
