Farm to Market Report: Weekend of November 9

Well, folks, we have reached the threshold. This is the very last farmers market report of this year. It’s time to pull out the mason jars filled with delicious preserves, fire up the potbelly stove, and hunker down for a long and arduous winter. And if you don’t live in the 1800’s, you can drive over to Albertsons for more pumpkin spice creamer. Whether you were a frequent patron or a one-time wanderer, you’ve helped uphold a tradition of farm fresh, locally grown and crafted goods in North Texas. Check below for the upcoming market rundown.

Cowtown Farmers Market:
3821 Southwest Boulevard
Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m

The Cowtown market is open year-round on Saturdays, but coming up on the 23rd and 27th will be a Thanksgiving market with guest vendors. From 8 to 12 p.m., you’ll be able to stock up on everything you need to have a killer Thanksgiving spread.

Chestnut Square Farmers Market:
315 S. Chestnut St.
McKinney, TX 75069

The Chestnut market is on their winter schedule, which means the market will only meet the third Saturday of each month. This month’s market will be on the 16th, and will feature the Sisters on the Fly and their vintage trailers from 10-2 p.m.

Coppell Farmers Market:
793 S. Coppell Rd.
Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

This weekend, the Coppell market still has summer produce like eggplant, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, and watermelons, so grab those before the first freeze hits the farm. Fall vegetables like radishes, carrots, beets, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins will be available. Be sure to get some honey, tamales, pasta, cheese, and fresh squeezed lemonade when you stop in. Thanksgiving turkey orders can be placed with Rehoboth Ranch now, so don’t miss out.

The market will continue weekly through the 23rd and will then be open on December 7 and 21 from 8 to 12 p.m. After that, the market will take a short break and reopen in January through March on the second and fourth Saturdays from 8 to 12 p.m.
