Truck of the Week: Jack’s Chowhound

After spending time in Los Angeles, owner/operator Jack Mooney came back to Texas in 2011 and started working through the then-onerous regulations to start his food truck: Jack’s Chowhound.  Jack started rolling in June 2011, right with the first wave of Dallas-based food trucks.  Jack can usually be found at lunchtime events and most often in the Arts District.  Jack’s menu stays relatively the same, featuring pulled pork grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, fries, steak frites, and a big fat BLT sandwich.  I’ve found that consistency is one of the keys to food truck longevity in Dallas, and on that basis, Jack’s Chowhound scores highly.  Stick with the basics and you’ll always be happy.  If you’re a first-timer to Jack’s, always start with the pulled pork grilled cheese.

Given that it is Tuesday, and I’m running very late, here is this week’s schedule (minus Monday).
