Katie and George Brown Return to Catering: Experimental Table

george Katie and George Brown closed their catering company in February 2011 to“find a better balance between work and meaningful time with our triplets.” You might remember: the couple opened a fancy, George, restaurant on Inwood and Lovers in 2004, where Fireside Pies now sits, and just after they got rolling, Katie got pregnant. Like, really pregnant. They stayed open for two years (remember those shear white curtains!) but shuttered the restaurant in 2006 and continued catering.

They gathered the kids–William, Clementine, and Oliver—and moved to Lucas, Texas.  On October 17, you are invited to their home for a preview dinner by Experimental Table, their farm-to-table catering venture. The Browns are dedicated to supporting local farmers (here’s their list) and serving wholesome, delicious local food. The price for the four-course dinner is $100 per person and includes a tour of their farm and music by Brad Good. For reservations:  [email protected] or 214-752-6851. Check out their new website.
