Sprinkles Ice Cream and Glazed Donut Works Both Open Today

|

I give up. I’m channeling my inner fat kid today and eating like there’s no tomorrow. Why? Oh, no biggie, just TWO dessert places are grand opening today. It’s sick, really, to do this to us. Ice cream and donuts in one day. My stomach doesn’t know how to handle it.

Sprinkles Ice Cream
8413 Preston Center Plaza, Dallas, Texas 75225

Listen, we are the third city in the whole entire nation to get a Sprinkles Ice Cream store. The store opens up at noon, right next to the Sprinkles ATM machine in Preston Center. Is that convenient or what? Cupcake + ice cream within a one-minute-walking distance. Just reading the online description makes my heart tingle. Here’s what it says: “Handcrafted using organic California dairy and carefully selected ingredients, Sprinkles is slow churned to incorporate less air resulting in a densely creamy and intensely flavorful ice cream experience. Scooped into crisp red velvet waffle cones, pressed between fluffy cupcake tops or piled high into sundaes loaded with housemade sauces and toppings.”

By the way, for the grand opening, 10 ice cream pints will have golden tickets hidden inside. Each ticket is a $100 gift card to Sprinkles. Go eat and prosper, guys. Go eat and prosper.

Glazed Donut Works
2644 Elm St.
(214) 741-2275

This Deep Ellum donut shop opened at 7 a.m. this morning, but they’ve already sold out of goodies. No kidding. People emptied them out within the first 90 minutes, according to the Facebook page. Their FB likers have been going absolutely insane over Glazed Donut’s hearty looking donuts. I mean, c’mon. Look at those toppings. The Achocolypse Now donut has crumbled chocolate cake AND chocolate ganache AND dark chocolate icing on top of it.
