There’s something about a place where you can bring both your appetite and your pooch that makes for the perfect neighborhood hangout. For old east Dallas, Garden Café is the go-to spot.
Mark Wootton, manager and cook at the white brick café at Junius Square, takes home-style cooking up a notch. His dishes are made from locally produced ingredients that are sometimes picked from the cafe’s backyard garden. While breakfast items (like the whole-wheat pancakes and omelets made with free-range eggs) are offered all day, it’s really the daily specials that draw the crowd. On Wednesdays, the east Texas-style meatloaf brings you right back to the seat of your momma’s kitchen. (Assuming that your mom serves up a ridiculous meatloaf.)
In celebration of earning their well-deserved spot on the 100 Best Restaurants in Dallas 2013 list, the Garden Café is giving away a $100 gift card to enjoy a meal, on them. a winner will be picked on Friday, August 9. Jump and enter here to win:
