I wanted to share about a special weekly taco feature (WTF) that Velvet Taco is offering this week in respect and honor of last week’s passing of Rusty Taco’s Russell “Rusty” Fenton…
Everyone at VT knew Rusty Fenton and are deeply saddened by his loss. To show proper respect for Rusty’s passion for the world of tacos, Velvet Taco’s WTF this week is the “Rusty Taco” and VT will be donating half the proceeds from each one sold to the educational trust fund that has been set up for his daughters.
The Rusty Taco will be a house made corn tortilla with slow roasted achiote pork shoulder, avocado crema, grilled pineapple, queso fresco, fresh cilantro and pickled red onions… See photo attached. It will run starting today thru Sunday.
The goal is to sell 500 tacos, equaling to a $1,000 donation.
As Corporate Chef John Franke has said, “Rusty was a class act and his fingerprint will be on the restaurant business for years to come.”
