Where to Pick-Your-Own-Peaches This Season

It’s June, which means it’s peach season. Usually we can pick them ourselves at orchards surrounding Dallas to completely craft our cobblers, pies, and juices. Unfortunately, this year Mother Nature had other plans.

Because of the freezes that occurred in March, some farms aren’t bearing any peaches this season. A few places, though, have a crop and are letting the public come out and pick their own. Even though Henrietta Creek Apple Orchard and Jenkins Farms do have peaches, they will be limited because of the freeze.

It’s always good to bring cash and call ahead to make sure the farm is open for harvesting.

Jump for it.

Henrietta Creek Apple Orchard has three rows of peaches ready and will open this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to allow the public to pick peaches and even squash, garlic and pecans.

Jenkins Farms, which is a little farther of a drive, says the peaches are a week away from harvest time, which means calling ahead for days and hours is a must.
