Bits & Bites: Things to Do and Chew in Dallas This Weekend, November 9-11

Texas, you suck. Thirty seconds ago it was sunny. Now it’s gray and cloudy. What’s up with that? Go back to sunshine, Texas; I need you to do this for me. My friend Jane is visiting from North Carolina, and I will not allow you to ruin her pie-eating, (potential) goat-petting, and taco-stuffing experience.

Friday

Oh, hey, you can still buy tickets to Good vs. Evil: An Evening with Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert. I’m surprised it’s not sold out yet. Who wouldn’t want to watch Bourdain chew some Food Network stars up and eat them for dinner? The show starts tonight at 8 p.m. inside Bass Hall.

Stone Street Martini Lounge opens on 1520 Elm St., Ste. 201 today. From 6 to 8 p.m., there will be complimentary hor d’oeuvres and specialty drink samples. RSVP to [email protected].

There’s a Fort Worth Greek Festival at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church going on all weekend. There’s supposed to be good food and music. And Greek stuff.

Saturday

White Rock Lake Festival is a family friendly affair with food trucks and a pretty cool musical line up. Take a look at the schedule here. Assuming the weather will be nice this weekend, this will probably be the most relaxing Saturday and Sunday in the history of Saturdays and Sundays, ever, if you decide to go.

So, um, the Moscow Ballet Tea Party is happening at the Hilton Anatole’s (Wedgwood Room) from 2 to 4 p.m. Moscow Ballet soloist Natalia Miroshynyk will be there, and you can eat scones with her. And maybe learn a few pliés will you’re at it.

Sunday

Jon Alexis and Bradley Anderson have teamed up for a special lobster night. The Veritas Wine Room is hosting a New England Lobster Bake at 5 p.m. for $30 per person. Enjoy lobster, littleneck clams, PEI mussels, corn, and potatoes with some wine, of course. Bradley will have it all picked out for you. To reserve, email [email protected].
