Fewer pop-up events this week, with lots of the food trucks catering private events. We include private events in our schedule, by the way, so that if you have a hankerin’ for a particular truck that day, you’ll more readily see it’s availability.
Monday Night Foodball at Preston/Frankford will no longer happen, apparently due to local unhappy bricks ‘n’ mortar restaurants. They various food trucks are trying to find another large parking lots in the same area.
Wednesday has the usual pop-up event for dinner behind Crate & Barrel on Knox Ave. The “Food Truck Experience” continues at Sigel’s on Greenville. Addison’s “Bite Nights” at the Savoye continues on Thursday.
Frisco has a small event “Art in the Park” at the Gaylord on Thursday night. And look for several of Dallas’ best food trucks at the Santa Fe 5K on Thursday, including Easy Slider, Nammi, The Butcher’s Son, Gandolfo’s, and Ruthie’s Cheesesteaks.
Cedars Park will no longer operate on Thursday, so your primary event will be on Friday night.
AT&T Food Truck Fridays benefiting the United Way of Dallas will have 5 food trucks October 12th and 19th with part of the proceeds foing to United Way. The event will take place from 11am to 2pm in the public plaza adjacent to the AT&T building at 208 S Akard St. Food Trucks featured include: Nammi, Ssahm BBQ, Gandolfo’s Deli, The Butcher’s Son, Rock & Roll Tacos (12th only), and Rockstar Bakeshop (19th only).
Sigel’s Greenville has a new pop-up truck event on Friday night called “Payday Block Party“. Typically, this will include Tutta’s Pizza, Gastro Bomber, My Cupcake Garden, Si Tapas’ Food Truck, and Taco Party.
Two food trucks have recently stopped rolling: Free Wheel’n and Food Traveler. I’m especially disappointed in Food Traveler. They had one of the more interesting menus of all of the food trucks. Owners John and Kendall Bilbow are working to bring their menu to a local (Fort Worth) restaurant.
