October 23 Food Truck Schedule and News for Dallas/Ft. Worth

|

Wow.  I’m really running late this week.  As Carol says: “Oops. I blame it on the deadlines.”

Look for increased activity in Thanksgiving Square.

Cedar’s Park “Food.Fun.Fido Friday Night” (October 26) is moving to Sunday (October 28).

The biggest event with food truck attendance this week is the opening of the Klyde Warren Park.

Denton has their first big event this Friday night with “Friday Night Bites“.

Here’s your schedule.  Remember to check Facebook and Twitter first.

I Feel Like A Woman by Shania TwainMoving to Texas! I grew up in Southern California and moved to Texas for college. My sister and I moved out here together, and we only had each other. It was a big, scary life change but what I learned—and have applied many times since—is that the biggest stages of growth come from pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone.In my role in my previous agency, BuzzShift, we had a very small team and I was eager to make a large impact. I came into the company as an account manager, dedicated to client service and project management. By the end of my time at BuzzShift, I had experience in business development and sales, internal marketing strategy and execution, copywriting and editing, and much more. This allowed me to understand how my skills and experience can benefit the company outside of my defined role.

The move taught me to bravely pursue opportunities, and know that while change and fresh starts can feel daunting, they are also exhilarating, as it gives us the chance to have an even larger life than we first thought.Taking personality quizzes!

But one such non-profit that holds a special place in my heart is Bonton Farms. We recently landed on the Dallas Business Journal’s Best Places to Work list, a recognition I’m really proud of. Dallasites101 began because we had a passion for storytelling and helping others, but now that we have a full team of amazing people, our mission has evolved to also encompass professional growth and the cultivation of a positive company culture. At 18, one of the most transformative experiences I had was relocating from California to Maine for college – a massive move across the country. This decision became a blueprint for my future choices, whether it was moving to Dallas, where my only ties were a job offer and a few friends, or leaving a stable corporate job to dive into Dallasites full time. That 3,200-mile journey as a teenager taught me that what may seem like risks are often opportunities in disguise. All you need is that leap of faith. And, time and again, I've learned that bold moves, both literal and metaphorical, can lead to some truly amazing outcomes!Binging TV shows! My husband and I rarely go to bed without putting on a show to fall asleep to, and it’s very easy for me to get through a whole show in just a few days, whether it’s a comedy, drama, sci-fi, etc, as long as it’s captivating, we’ve watched it!The most pivotal moment came during three back-to-back moments of crisis for Dallas, where we had to really decide what type of media company we were going to be. These moments included Covid, the 2021 Black Lives Matter protests, and the winter storm of 2021. Previously known as a lively Instagram platform celebrating life in Dallas, these events put Dallasites101 to the test. We transformed into a crucial resource, supporting local businesses, disseminating vital information, and fostering community unity. And I’m really proud to say that our company stepped up to the challenge!
