Maggie’s Favorites: 1. Abi Ferrin dress at Nordstrom 2. Villa-O 3. The Killers 4. Chanel wallet 5. The New Yorker.)

Who she is: Maggie Kipp

Why we love her: The 39 year-old New Orleans native is a multitasker extraordinaire, seamlessly juggling raising two (adorable) daughters, her day job as the family office manager at CPA firm MCG Group, and her substantial philanthropic commitments (she’s co-chairing tomorrows 25th Anniversary Mad Hatter’s Tea benefiting the Dallas Arboretum and Trinity River Mission’s Mission Ole fundraiser, is on the board of Turtle Creek Recovery Center, and is a member of Junior Group of the Dallas Garden Club). She’s also wickedly funny, warm, whip smart, and is a blast to hang out with. Suffice to say, we’re smitten.

Herewith a peek into Maggie’s world.

On heavy rotation:  I love The Killers station on Pandora, and when I make it back home to New Orleans’ Jazz Fest, I always discover fun bands.

What she’s reading: I read the Wall Street Journal most days, Sunday’s New York Times, and try to keep up with The New Yorker and The Atlantic magazines. I also gravitate toward great fiction.

Always in her handbag: iPhone, pink Chanel wallet, lip gloss, UT longhorn stickers (Hook ‘Em Horns, I bleed burnt orange!), and my 3 year-old daughter Katie’s large fabric hair bows (usually pink).

Her uniform:  I’m a big fan of Abi Ferrin for work, as her pieces are flattering but comfortable and professional. At night and going out I’ll wear a bright Roberto Cavalli dress (the NorthPark store is one of the Mad Hatter’s Tea fashion sponsors so I’ve been meeting there – and shopping – a lot recently.)

Her go-to restaurants:  We walk down the Katy Trail to Villa-O or across Beverly Drive for dinner in Highland Park Village… There is just something magical about walking to dinner.

Favorite family outing in Dallas:  We spend a lot of time at Brook Hollow Golf Club, especially in the spring (when eating outside is so nice) and summer when Katie will spend four hours straight in the pool. The parks in our neighborhood are really nice so we walk to and play at Lakeside Park, Abbott Park, and the playground across from Armstrong School whenever possible.

Her tip for balancing work and family:  I am really lucky to have an incredibly involved husband who is really helpful and loves spending time with our daughters. Our nanny Billie is more like a member of our family, in addition to being an incredible “honorary grandmother” to our girls, she helps by running errands, grocery shopping, cooking, even arranging fresh flowers which I love having in our home. All my friends want to clone Billie… she is my “not-so-secret weapon,” allowing me to work, do charity work, nurture my friendships, travel, and spend incredible quality time with our daughters.
