Room Tour: Linde Browning’s Creativity-Infused Nursery

By Megan Hunt |

Linde Browning’s hand-painted wall murals and refinished heirloom furniture are the perfect ingredients for the inspiring nurseries she helps design for clients. So, it’s no surprise that Linde channeled her creative prowess into creating a beautiful space for her new son Mack.

When Linde was designing the room in her Lake Highlands home (where she also operates a studio), she approached things from her son’s perspective, noting, “While Mack is small, most ofthe time in his room will be spent on his back looking up…the ceiling is the star of this space and place for Mack to look up and be engaged. I am consistently inspired by textiles and patterns…this room is no exception. I think that creativity starts in the nursery — children surrounded by an inspiring space will grow up to be inspired people.”

We couldn’t agree more Linde!

We’re smitten with the finished product shown above. Take a peek at more snaps and details of Mack’s magical space after the jump.

(Linde’s work shows a personal touch that tells a story of the child.)

(The dresser and mirror both feature custom hand finish and paint.)

(The crib is also Linde’s handiwork. The wall and ceiling detail were hand painted, and the window treatments, crib mattress cover, and pillows were hand-sewn. The rug is an Overstock.com find, as Linde notes, “I occasionally find diamonds in the rough there.”)

(The jar on the bookshelf is a thoughtful gift from on of Linde’s dear friend. It contains little notes to remember all of Mack’s firsts, as well as special moments throughout his life.)
