Editorial, advertising, marketing, circulation, and Web internships are available at D Magazine Partners, publishers of D Magazine, D Home, D Weddings, D Beauty, D CEO, Dallas Medical Directory, six community newspapers under the heading People Newspapers, and numerous custom publications. A strong interest and some experience in the area in which you apply are preferred, in addition to excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills. Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment under tight deadlines. Although internships are unpaid, D Magazine Partners interns gain invaluable real-world work experience. Interns should be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.

Advertising/Sales Intern


Interns in the advertising/sales department will aid the team by gathering materials to provide to clients, creating logs of advertisers in competitor publications, helping to complete projects for the sales team, and helping to better organize the department. Interning with the advertising/sales department is a great way to get experience and interact with all departments, not just advertising/sales. You will see first-hand how special sections and sponsorship opportunities are developed, as well as the follow through and end product.


Art Intern


The primary responsibility of the intern is to catalog original photography and illustration created for D Magazine Partners. Other responsibilities include research, photo acquisition, and production of photo shoots and illustrations. Art Department interns also route mail, field calls, and handle art shipments. Tasks generally depend on experience. Students or recent graduates involved in graphic design or photography preferred. Editorial Intern


The editorial departments for D Magazine Partners seek organized, eager, reliable interns for the spring, summer, and fall intern sessions (dates are flexible). Primary responsibilities include fact-checking, through phone calls, e-mail, and Internet; researching; running errands as needed (e.g. collecting or returning items used in photo shoots, picking up documents, checking out an off-site location); covering local events and submitting a report for posting on one of our blogs; writing brief blurbs and listings; working on projects for other departments and publications as availability permits.


Fashion Intern


The fashion stylists for D Magazine Partners are seeking smart, personable, hard-working, organized interns to assist with fashion research, correspond with press contacts, pick up/return items for photo shoots, and help at photo shoots. Interns must be open to staying late on photo shoot days, driving around town researching products, and helping to pack cars and carry all necessities into photo shoots, including clothes and equipment. Knowledge of the fashion industry is helpful but not required.


Marketing Intern


The Marketing department is looking for interns interested in event planning, promotions, and media marketing. An ideal applicant will be hard working, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. As a marketing intern, you will observe, plan, and execute internal/external events, assist the marketing team with data entry, research, and mailings, attend planning meetings, and other tasks as needed.


Web Intern


Get hands-on Web experience with dmagazine.com. We are looking for talented interns to assist the online team with multiple projects including fact-checking, content management, online research, writing, and editing. Opportunities are also available for experienced videographers. Ability to multi-task is a must. Knowledge of html is not necessary but very helpful.


People Newspapers Editorial Intern


Editorial interns will be responsible for a variety of projects including writing Q&As for each community edition, editing and typing police reports, assisting Society and Real Estate editors with compiling content, and reporting on stories as needed. Interns are encouraged to attend weekly story meetings with the editorial staff as well as pitch in on special sections such as the quarterly publication Homes & Estates.


People Newspapers Production Intern


Production interns will work closely with the production staff, designing news and feature pages, as well as scanning and color-correcting photos. Interns will create pages from provided stories, photos, headlines, graphics, etc., using InDesign. Candidates should be proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Newspaper experience is preferred.
