After being on the market for over a year, the former Star-Telegram Plaza in Bedford has found a new owner. American Motorcycle Trading Co. bought the office and retail building for an undisclosed price from a Delaware-based corporation after selling its previous location in Arlington 11 months ago. The new space will serve as the headquarters and showroom for the motorcycle company, while another of its locations, in Mansfield, will remain active.

The building covers 3.4 acres and provides 37,796 square feet of space, combining a 29,142-square-foot first floor and a 8,654-square-foot second floor. B&B Family Partnership is listed as the buyer and was represented by Renee Efimoff, senior vice president of Coldwell Banker Commercial Advisors DFW.

“It will be great to see that property come back on line after sitting vacant for so long. It’s an attractive building,” said Efimoff. A main draw is the property’s proximity to DFW Airport, as it sits at the intersection of Airport Freeway and State Highway 121. With the company’s online sales department, buyers sometimes fly in to pick up a bike and ride it back home, adding convenience to the new location.

The building, built in 1986, will undergo a renovation before it’s occupied. American Motorcycle Trading Co. hopes to be operating out of the location this summer.

“They looked at the building and location and liked it immediately,” Efimoff said. “This property not only meets all of the buyer’s criteria, but it offers ample space to expand its showroom.”
