One of the most recognizable buildings on the Dallas skyline has a new owner. Fortis Property Group has acquired the 55-story tower from Hines. Known for its six-story “keyhole” at the top, the 1.3 million-square-foot building was built in 1987. It sits on 1.5 acres at 2200 Ross Avenue in the Arts District.

Fortis, which owns properties on the East Coast and in Dallas, is led by CEO Jonathan Landau. The strategy is to buy best-in-class properties, he said, and Chase Tower is right in line with that. Landau said the building’s future involves more updating and repositioning, with a focus on amping up the Ross Avenue curb appeal as well as restaurant and other amenities.

Stream’s J.J. Leonard, managing director, and Matthew Wieser, executive vice president, will oversee leasing of the property.

Chase Tower was designed by architect Richard Keating. Amenities include multiple conference and lounge options, a fitness center, concierge, mezzanine WiFi, and The Petroleum Club.
