After a somewhat lengthy construction period, The NYLO Dallas Hotel will now open for business. This new hotel is located within Dallas’ Cedars neighborhood, an area that’s growing in popularity. As an investor in the Cedars corridor, I am very excited! The view of downtown Dallas from NYLO’s rooftop terrace is a must-see.

With the success of Southside at Lamar, Gilleys, the filming of the television series Dallas, Cedar Social Restaurant, The Beat, and the Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel, businesses along south Lamar are setting a healthy pace for the future of Dallas.

Visionary developer Jack Matthews of Matthews Southwest continues his successful track record of quality development for the Cedars area and Southside.  The NYLO is a conversion of the historic 101-year-old Dallas Coffin Co. building. The structure retains much of its original exterior and interior walls, windows, and floors. The vintage structure is set off with bright colors, hip fixtures and furniture, and green features throughout.

The NYLO Dallas South Side is Southern Dallas’ first hotel since the 1940s. It features a French bistro style restaurant, pool table and bar on the lobby level and 950 square feet indoor meeting space. I urge you to check it out.

With each investment is southern Dallas, Mayor Rawling’s vision of Grow South becomes more of a reality.

Terrence Maiden is executive vice president-development of Corinth Properties and managing partner and CEO of The Nediam Co. Contact him at [email protected].
