Uber DFW has completed the renovation of its expanded office in the West End.
The technology company, which connects riders to drivers via its mobile app, announced its expansion from 3,000 square feet to nearly 13,000 square feet late last year.
Its new space houses its marketing team, operations and logistics, public affairs, and UberEATS—a total of 20 employees. The office includes nine conference rooms, two meeting rooms, and two phone rooms, along with open desk areas, lounging space, a room for ping pong, a kitchen stocked with goodies, and workspace on the deck. It also has a few art pieces paying tribute to the region, including a hand painted mural of downtown Dallas.
In addition, the office features a newly developed “partner support” area, called the Greenlight Hub, offering drivers and partners expert support. The hub is set up similar to the Genius Bar at Apple stores, with a screen telling partners when they can approach the table of experts. Uber has 25 experts set up across Dallas, Plano, and Fort Worth hubs.
Uber moved to its West End office in early 2014, when it employed six people. It also operated out of the Tech Church, the former home of Tech Wildcatters in Uptown, in September 2012, and Common Desk in Deep Ellum in 2013.
The company did not release figures on how much it spent on the renovation. Go Studio served as the architect, and Cushman & Wakefield’s Meg Hardin was the project manager.
