Vote For Your Favorite Deep Ellum Mural

The three most popular murals will endure as the 42 Murals Project begins considering another round of artwork for the neighborhood.

The 42 Murals Project behind many of Deep Ellum’s most Instagram-able walls is asking voters to pick their favorite mural in an online contest.

Visit @42murals on Instagram and “like” the photo of whichever mural most strikes your fancy. The artists behind the three murals with the most votes, tallied by Feb. 28, will be up for cash awards.

The three winning murals will also be guaranteed a little more longevity. The 42 Murals Project, taking its name from a real estate developer and property owner in the neighborhood, is now accepting submissions for a new edition of Deep Ellum murals, which would wipe many of these walls clean for new artwork. (The project is taking entries until March 15.) The winners of the contest would endure into the next round of the project.

Last year, The Dallas Morning News published a nifty online interactive feature that functions as a walking tour of Deep Ellum’s murals. It should prove especially handy as you weigh your options now.

And while we’re not given to electioneering, how could you not vote for Adrian Torres’ elephants?

Vote responsibly.
