The singularly influential Dallas music blog Gorilla vs Bear announced the lineup for its annual Granada event earlier today, which will take place on September 12.

This year’s edition is the 4th in the series, and is noteworthy for its headlining act, Panda Bear, one of the founding members of Animal Collective. His 2007 album, “Person Pitch,” had a profound impact on the sound of pop music, and its production technique and various other harmonic elements can still be heard in the work of newer artists.

Also performing at the event is Sophie, the London producer whose live set was described by Noisey as  “a welcoming, stupid, playground-like DJ musical experience, but it is also an off-putting, mischievously irritating one.” Sold.  Former Denton/Dallas musician Leanne Macomber will also perform with Ejecta, which will be making its Dallas debut. Also on the bill are DOSS, and Blues Control, the latter of which has not played an area show in sometime.

Last year’s festival was a success and reminded us of how dull the booking at other locally-sourced mini festivals is by comparison. Tickets are on sale now. Since the first incarnation of the Gorilla vs Bear showcase back in 2011, this night has grown to become one of Dallas’ most talked about events.
