(FEATURE) Cocktail Reception for Nathan Green at The Goss-Michael Foundation — May 28, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 1405 Turtle Creek Blvd. Dallas, TX 75207.

Nathan Green is the first artist to be featured in the Goss-Michael Foundation’s new “Feature” exhibition series, which shines the light on significant contemporary artists who make their home here in North Texas. That kind of platform has already proved efficacious. Since Green’s work opened at Goss-Michael he has been picked up by London’s HUS Gallery, and curators from London’s Tate Gallery and White Cube Galleries have, apparently, shown interest in his work. Which is great for Green, but it proves a larger point about the effect the support Dallas’ big collectors can have on artists’ careers.

The latest contemporary auction from Heritage offers a chance to glimpse a bevy of works by modern masters before they slip back into private hands. Highlights include work by Ellsworth Kelly, Chuck Close, Frank Stella, Eric Fischl, Ed Rusche, Jasper Johns, Alexander Calder, Marcel Duchamp, and many more. Go here for the full catalog.
