“Budwesier: Made in America  featuring The Chainsmokers | Candyland (Gilley’s): Dallas’ own “Made in America” celebration kicks off tonight with performances from producer-songwriter duo The Chainsmokers and DJ duo, Candyland. The Chainsmokers grabbed national attention with their 2014 hit “#SELFIE,” which quickly went viral and spawned a generation of vines and YouTube videos. They’ve continued their buzz with a series of remixes, citing influences from house and dubstep; collaborations include Dragonette, BANKS, The Killers, Chromeo and Ellie Goulding.

Santa Barbara natives Josie Martin and Ethan Davis – known as the house-electro DJ duo Candyland – rose to fame in 2013 after winning back to back Beatport remix contests. Their collection of mixes have amassed over 5 million Soundcloud hits, and propelled the partners into an international touring circuit. Attending participants will also receive an opportunity to win tickets to the Jay Z-hosted Made in America festival scheduled for September 2014.

Johnny Hallyday  (House of Blues) : Known as the “French Elvis,” to his fans, the extravagant crooner rose quickly to fame in the 1960s for both his music and lavish lifestyle. Hallyday entertained much of the French-speaking world with his renditions of American blues legends such as Presley and Jerry Lewis, his frequent romances with movie stars and a treasured acting career. With a career spanning over 100 million albums and 181 tours, Hallyday announced his retirement in 2007, but returned in 2012 with a string of high-profile performances in Los Angeles, Quebec and New York. He’ll be performing at the House of Blues as part of his Born Rocker international tour.

AT&T Performing Arts Center: Patio Sessions with Somebody’s Darling: Local “roots rock” band Somebody’s Darling will continue AT&T’s Patio Sessions series, which aims to bring an assortment of unique and local acts to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This installment features an acoustic set from the country-rock quintet, as well as a performance from Arlington country-rock duo The Days.

As always, Dallas DJs will be performing several residencies tonight: join Colly T and guest DJ Blake Ward at the Beauty Bar for VIBE; DJ Sober is back from tour and will return to The Basement at The Travis; DJ Spacechase’s Subsonic Indulgence will kick off at Andy’s and Yeahdef’s Y2k will take place at Hailey’s. Too Fresh Productions will present Hip Hop Karaoke at the Crown and Harp.
