I love Lucy.
I love Lucy.

1. Coriolanus, Modern Museum of Art, Mar. 12.

Technically, this show is piped in from across the pond, but we’re grateful to Amphibian Stage Productions for making it happen. Seeing a Donmar Warehouse production at least once in your life is a must. If you are like us and don’t get to travel as often as you’d like, think of this as cultural teleportation. This one is a take on Shakespeare’s tragedy starring Tom Hiddleston.

2. I Love Lucy Live on Stage, Bass Performance Hall, through Mar. 16.

The beloved ’50s television show gets a colorful staging as Ricky, Lucy, Fred, and Ethel return with more antics. The audience is live in the “film studio” as they tape two brand new episodes.

3. Throwing Shade Live Podcast, Dallas Comedy House, Mar. 14.

Many a wonderful match has been made in comedy class. Case in point: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the ImprovOlympics in Chicago. Another example: Erin Gibson and Bryan Safi, otherwise known as Feminasty and Homosensual, at Upright Citizens Brigade in LA. The duo host the politically incorrect and highly hilarious podcast Throwing Shade that discusses issues of importance to “ladies and gays.” They’ll record live in Dallas for one night only.

4. Heaven and Hell That Burning Place of Fire, Margo Jones Theatre at Magnolia Lounge, Mar. 13-22.

Nouveau 47’s latest production involves a man who has to go to hell to retrieve the son he abandoned as a child. The son has grown up to be the antichrist—and a TV executive. The future of earth is at stake.

5. The Motherf**ker with the Hat, Kitchen Dog Theater, through Mar. 16.

Stephen Adly Guirgis’ foul-mouthed funny-serious play closes this Saturday at Kitchen Dog in Uptown. Here’s why you should go.
