It’s pretty chic to be anti-SXSW in North Texas. We at D FrontRow are not the hating sort, and we are down here having the time of our young (and also middle-aged) lives. We have already had one memorable day that climaxed with seeing Iggy Pop rushed away Hollywood-style in a black SUV, and saw Sky Ferreira put on a brave performance before an adoring crowd, despite losing her voice. You’ll also see some photos of the Specials and Ghostface, and even a photo from a Hipstamatic-sponsored brunch! Here are a few highlights from what we’ve seen so far, which act as a preview of our upcoming coverage. If you’re in town this evening, I recommend the following acts, listed in chronological order and starting fairly late:

Richard Thompson (Antone’s at 213 W 5th St) 10:00-10:40 pm

Sky Ferreira (1100 Warehouse at 1100 5th St) 10:45-11:10 pm

Alt-J (The Belmont at 305 W 6th St) 11:10-11:50 pm

Riff Raff (Emo’s East, located at 2015 E Riverside Dr) 11:25-11:50 pm

Fungi Girls (Hotel Vegas, located at 1500 E 6th St) 11:45-12:15 am

Lil Mouse (Club 119, located at 119 W 8th St) 12:05-12:25 am

Death (Ten Oak, located at 409 Colorado St) 12:50-1:40 am
