THE POLYPHONIC SPREE AND TROMBONE SHORTY

TO PLAY KLYDE WARREN PARK OPENING CELEBRATION

6,000 free general admission tickets available starting October 9

DALLAS (September 12, 2012) – The Concert for Dallas presented by Deloitte, the signature music festival highlighting the Klyde Warren Park Grand Opening Celebration presented by Chase, will feature performances by Grammy-nominated Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Dallas indie rock icons, The Polyphonic Spree. The show is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. on Klyde Warren Park’s Great Lawn.

More acts are expected to be added to the lineup in the coming weeks. Entertainment production is sponsored by Jenny and John Kirtland and Tami Thomsen. The evening will culminate with a fireworks display presented by Oncor.

“The completion of Klyde Warren Park brings a sense of balance to our already stellar downtown environment,” said Tim DeLaughter, founder and front man of The Polyphonic Spree. “It breathes a futuristic beauty that is well received by all the wonderful architecture that surrounds it.  I couldn’t be more proud of what the city of Dallas is offering our community. This is an event I am quite excited about.  This project is definitely one for the books for me.  I have always believed a blade of grass has the will to push through heavy weights of concrete.  A green platform floats above!”
