The Week/end That *Was*

I feel like I’ve jumbled this newsletter together at the last minute, but I blame that on the juicy goods of the Internet. While trying to find cool events for you to do this weekend, packing for my getaway to the beach, and working(-ish), I’ve been totally distracted by celeb gossip sites and the greatness of YouTube (Gotta love those Flight of the Conchords videos). Anyway, let’s get back to business (not to be confused with Business Time ). Please enjoy the following hotspots this weekend. Meanwhile, I’ll be crossing my fingers that THIS doesn’t wash ashore while I’m walking on the beach (what is that!?).

But first, as always, check out the photo galleries from last weekend.

Where to *be* this week/end

Friday

8/8

Social House: Dinner for 2 for $50

Living in Dallas can be expensive. Especially when you’re trying to impress your date. Dinner, drinks, movies… it really adds up. Solution:

Saturday

8/9

Central 214 – Just Peachy

Life isn’t peachy all the time. That’s why we sometimes need a boost to help us get though those rough spots. And by boost, I mean alcohol. Thankfully, Central 214 will “make it all better” by introducing the Just Peachy cocktail.

Tuesday

8/12

Live Band Karaoke at Martini Park

Don’t give up on your dreams of becoming a rockstar. Here's your big chance! For years, your hairbrush has doubled as a microphone and your showerhead's been your audience (don't be embarrassed - we all do it). But now we can sing into a real mic in front of real people!

Wednesday

8/13

House of Blues: Comedy Zone

I’ve been sitting her for 15 minutes trying to think of something funny to say, but I’ve still got nothin’. I guess I’ll have to leave it up to Chris Wiles and Mark Evans to make you chuckle. Afterall, they’re real comedians.
