The Week/end That *Was*

I'm good at making people laugh. The old "leaving-my-coffee-cup-on-top-of-the-car" trick and the "dragging-toilet-paper-
from-my-shoe" prank gets 'em every time. But the best part is, they're not really jokes at all! These "smooth moves" are actually unintentional! Isn't that funny? Ha! Um, is this thing on? Ok, so it's obvious I’m not a comedian. And the truth is, these maneuvers are mildly embarrassing when they actually happen. So, this weekend I've decided I'm going to kick back and laugh at someone else for a change — like real comedians. Dallas is a hotbed for ha-ha’s, with some homegrown talent and touring stars. Below you will find a few of my faves. But before that, be sure to review the photo galleries of people having fun from last week/end. Note: A tip for the fellas: Never laugh at anyone in a swimsuit, model or otherwise. It’s bad karma.

Where to *be* this week/end

Thursday

6/5

Backdoor Comedy

Your friends think you’re funny. And, so does your mom — as long as you keep your jokes clean. Well now you can put your skeelz to the test on open mic night.

Friday

6/5

Addison Improv

Sitting close to the front, wearing a funny hat, or being completely normal are all reasons that could cause a comedian to pick you out of the crowd for embarrassment. But here you can rest assured that it won’t happen.

Hyena’s

Gramps used to tell the funniest stories. Aw, how I miss him. I like to think that he passed that gift on to me, but… I guess he didn’t. My friends are always telling me that I tend to ramble on and on and… on. I have no idea what they’re talking about.

Saturday

6/8

Four Day Weekend

The name itself catches your attention. Who doesn't love a four-day weekend? It's refreshing. Much like the comedy group here.
