The Week/end That *Was*

Jealousy does not look good on me. So, when one of my girlfriends told me she was going to Napa Valley this weekend, I had to hide my envy. “Oh wow!,” I said in a forced, high-pitched squeal, “I’m so excited for you! That’s awesome!” I mean, sure, I could go. If I could take a week off work and had the dinero to do it. IJS. Anywho, I decided I don’t need Napa. I can do my very own wine tour thingy right here. Minus the vineyards and sunny California, of course. Psh. Who needs them anyways? (Besides, the vineyards don’t have a glamorous nightlife scene like the galleries below demonstrate.) All I need is the wine. So, here’s what I came up with:

Where to *be* this week/end

Frisco

Farpointe Cellar

The self-proclaimed “most exciting wine store in the metroplex” has reason to call itself this. Why? Because it has cool events like, “Battle of the Sexes.”

Dallas

Dali

If I had a dollar for every time my girlfriend has told me, “You’ve got to check out Dali!” I would have exactly $7—but who’s counting? However, the soft opening was just last week, so that’s a lot of times.

Cork

With more than 600 wines for sale and 48 of them open for the tasting, you can truly “educate your glass” at Cork. The cool part: Taste any of the 48 you want by simply swiping your Cork debit card on one of the many computer touchscreen stations.

Grape

The tiny romantic restaurant off of Greenville Avenue hosts a happy hour all week long, plus two wine events a week.

Crush Wine Shop

If you drink wine as much as I do, then you hate to pass up a good bargain. Stuff gets expensive!

Southlake

The Wine Loft

Now this is a sexy wine bar. Romantic mood lighting and swanky background music make Southlake Town Square’s newest hotspot a mecca for wine lovers.

Other Cool Wine Bars

Addison

Grapevine
